This narrows it down (if I understand it right) to either a blockage in one of the pipes, or a failure of the heater matrix. I've felt the two pipes running from the engine bay to behind the dash. One is warm and one is cold. I've pumped (squeezed) the pipes inside the engine bay by hand with the coolant tank lid off.

Set the multimeter to DC Volts and, if it has a range setting, 20volts. Put the black probe to a good earth point and red probe to Orange wire on heater blower plug, switch on ignition and if you have 12v then fuses are ok. Booked into garage but he can't give me a price as he says he won't know where heater motor is located until he looks- tried to goigle this but can't find answer. He says it will be a very whick job if under glove box- or a longer,more expensive one.

I have this same problem in my SXi 1.2 C. Engine Coolant is topped up. Thermostat works fine.. No bad smells coming from vent. It does blow out some warm air but not as hot as it should be, I notice when im stopped for a long time (with engine on) The engine heats up over half way which is normal, and temp blowing out of the air vents is noticeably increased but still not up to the correct temp.
