St Ives Shanty Shout started in 2016 with a small handful of groups singing in The Castle Inn. This proved to be very popular and is now an annual event. From 2023 we have chosen to partner with the Friends of the Edward Hain Centre who support health and wellbeing in St Ives.

St Ives is preparing for over 100 singers to arrive for the seventh Shanty Shout on November 24 and 25. The event brings artists from Cornwall and beyond together at various venues across town, including the Bier Huis Grand Cafe, Cafe Art, the Golden Lion and The Western Hotel.

Coming from near and far, this year's 24 groups include a new local act, Spaven Mor, featuring one of our own Edward Hain trustees, Claire Young. Shanty Shout. St Ives Shanty Shout was started in 2016 by members of Bamaluz Bootleggers. They invited some friends to come and sing with them and raise some money for a good cause. Bamaluz Bootleggers might not sing together anymore and venues have come and gone along the way, but the core idea proved to be very popular and is now an annual event.
